Installation view of four 2020 pencil drawings.

On my website you’ll find drawings and mixed media collages. Although the imagery itself is often wholly abstract, current events in America are a common subject and inspiration.

I rely heavily on gesture when composing my images. My go-to collage materials are glass, newspaper, and wire. In most of my text drawings I use colored pencil to layer streams of handwritten text across the paper, and then I contour the marks with ink. The text itself is stream of consciousness writing that continues until the image is complete. In the spring of 2020 I began a new, ongoing series of pencil drawings that feature abstract landscapes. You can learn more about these recent works here.
